Akhbar alyoom- Turkey arrested an Israeli football player on Sunday accused of " public incitement to hatred" after he displayed a message on his wrist referring to the Israeli attack on Gaza during a match in Turkey, as reported by Turkish media.

The country’s justice minister announced an investigation into the "public incitement of hatred" against the Israeli footballer, Sagiv Yehezkel, who was also excluded by his club Antalyaspor.

Turkish Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated on “X”: “The Antalya public prosecutor’s office has opened a judicial investigation against Israeli footballer Sagiv Jehezkel for public incitement to hate due to his offensive gestures supporting the massacre committed by Israel in Gaza."

Several Turkish media, including Anadolu Ajansı and NTV channel, reported that the Israeli player was arrested on Sunday night. After scoring a goal during a match on Sunday, the player revealed a message written on a bandage wrapped around his wrist, stating: "100 days. 07/10".

This short message refers to the one hundred days since the October 7th operation last year, construed by the Turkish Minister of Justice as a sign supporting the Israeli military operations in response to Hamas' actions in Gaza.

The Turkish minister wrote: "We will continue to support the oppressed Palestinians" condemning the ongoing "genocide" in Gaza. Antalyaspor announced the expulsion of their Israeli player, accusing him of "acting against our country's values."

Since the beginning of the attack, Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has repeatedly described Israel as a "terrorist state," stating that Hamas, considered a terrorist group by the European Union and several countries, including the United States, is a "group of liberators."
